Calgary Linux Users Group Meeting 2018 – Dec 5 (Wed)
Who would like to meetup Downtown and try out the New Modern Main Calgary Public Library facilities?
They have 30 meeting rooms of various sizes so in future it could be feasible to have multiple channels of interest going on at the same time if desired?

Rooms have to be booked by Calgary Public Library members who agree to the CPLibrary and CLUG rules.
Date: Dec 5, 2018 — booked from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Place: Central Library 3-19C Meeting Room. (seating for 12 and wall mount TV –HDMI cable).
Address: 800 3 Street SE, Calgary, AB T2G 2E7 just across 3rd street SE, East & south of City Hall train station.
See Map below! zoom in for detail.
Getting there:
Calgary Transit seems the best way to get there.
Unless you have your own parking spot you may find may find the Parking Authorities costs high in the downtown core. There is a drop off point [map pin] and special needs elevator on the south east side via 8 Ave SE, across from a small pay for lot. Also another larger parking lot starting a block more to the east.

Read any parking instructions carefully and be prepared to pay. I might be walking from outside the downtown area. Good exercise for me:)

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone can drop by to the December 5th meeting; and what will this event entail for someone who might show up for the first time?
Thank you,
Elis

Thanks for asking.
Yes feel free to drop by, your seat is reserved.
This is planned to be an informal meeting to get together, try out the new venue, share interests and have fun.
I am hope to take notes on some training some members have requested.
Being interested makes you a Tier 1 member member already and a tear tbut we do have a small yearly fee for those who want to vote for Tier 2. https://clug.ca/wordpress/membershi/
People from many levels attend including some enthusiastic beginners.
Our common sense rules are easy to follow.
Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you. Mel
