MEETING TOPICS:

  • Relevance of LUG Meetings
  1. I was asked this question at two meetings recently and its been brought up before.
  2. My answer was yes, I think it can be!
  3. Come to the meeting, find out what is important and tell us what is important.
  • Multiple forms of media and technology should play some roll in our club, like video presentations. I can see many advantages: like try before you show, reach a larger audience, document for yourself, etc.
  1. Improve Accuracy of Documentation for Free and Open Source Instruction Guides
  2. Come up with new ways of coming together and topics that matter to you: Here is just one for instance: TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events (ref to more button) example ….

Cory Doctorow comments on advice to parents about Facebook (is it safe?)

  • Kin Wong’s work project and his Linux How To (Video Documentation). Ryan Walters was the camera man
  1. Kin has done a video talking about his project

MEETING TOPICS ?

INSTALL FEST and related topics

  • The theme has been building to an interesting install fest:

I will bring some usb sticks from Debian Live Boot Images

  • Also customized live boot/installs were brought up, so the idea was to include all packages and configuration needed to have it work “out of the box” (usb stick or DVD) to fit getting some jobs done
  • Interests and needs? Examples of some help questions and answers in clug-talk list?

OTHERS

  1. Getting printer up and running in Linux

Do we all know what we are bringing?

Bring your questions to the meeting for the general discussion! Also feel free to ask them on the glug.talk list
