Calgary Linux Users Group Annual General Meeting

Michael Walters…Secretary

The meeting opened on or about 7:00 p.m. 2014 May 7 with eleven people present (ten tier-two members and one tier-one member).

A number of ideas were brought forward to empower club members in sharing interesting topics and research, yet still have a life, too.

Mel, Michael, Sam, and Winson were tier-two members and Kin, Ian, Robin, Anand, David, and Peter purchased $20.00 tier-two memberships.

Sam offered to serve as treasurer. Anand nominated him as treasurer.  David seconded and the motion was carried.

Michael offered to serve as secretary. Sam nominated him as secretary.  David seconded and the motion was carried.

Anand offered to serve as president. Sam nominated him as president. David seconded and the motion was carried.

Mel offered to serve as vice president. David nominated Mel as vice-president. Sam seconded and the motion was carried.

Peter moved to close the floor to nominations. David seconded and the motion was carried.

With only one candidate running for each position, each candidate was elected by default.

Meeting — June 4, 2014

The next meeting is scheduled for June 4, 2014 at the U of C Downtown Campus, room 426, at 7 p.m.  As always, the meeting is open to members and non-members.  We’ll be looking at a few UTM disributions this month.  The discussion will touch upon security, traffic shaping and threat management in general.  After the meeting we usually head over to Brewster’s/Beer Revolution, which is within walking distance of meeting location.  Even if you can’t make it to the meeting, you’re welcome to join us for beers.
