Hey Folks,

As I answered Aaron's mail in the clug-talk list I felt it was time to post
here where it should be. Thanks again to Keith for the offer of the Flat
panel displays. Dave Watkins donated the HP e-Vectra system whose specs are
as follows:

PIII-600/667/733?? (not sure of the processor speed)
128Mb SDRAM (max of 256Mb, non-ECC, PC133)
8.4Gb HD
24x CD-ROM
integrated Direct AGP video controller
integrated Crystal CS4299 audio controller
integrated 3com 3C905C-TX NIC
Keyboard
Mouse

So a nice flat panel would go nicely with this system. Boosting up the RAM
would be cool. It's currently got Mandrake installed, not sure of the
version. I might put SuSE on it. It would be cool to get the latest SuSE
installed. Pete??

We have send off requests for donations to O'Reilly and SuSE. I will probably
ask Nexus to donate something.

We'll be printing up a load of brochures soon. I have to make some small
changes to it first.

I was thinking about bringing my laptop but it is definitely not the cutting
edge that I was hoping for.

As I mentioned in response to Aaron's post, we have confirmed the use of the
professional display kit from Display Dynamics. It is an eight panel system,
black in colour that will look very slick once set up. Aside from the CLUG
banner that we will hopefully have done up soon, the panels have nothing on
them. We could use some self adhesive velcro dots or strips to stick stuff to
the panels. Any ideas as to what we should put up? I'd like some facts about
CLUG and Linux up there.

I wouldn't mind having a high zoot system that has a DVD player installed and
working that could be running Revolution OS during the show. This also means
a sound system. Anyone want to part with such stuff?

The booth will never have less than one person. After the show is done, they
lock down the Convention Centre. CLUG hasn't yet got insurance so my solemn
promise that things will not go missing will have to do. I'll put it to the
Exec at our meeting tomorrow that if anything is lost, it is replaced in full
from CLUG funds. I'll keep you posted on that.

I am working on some shirts for the booth staff. We have T-shirt transfers but
we haven't gotten the appropriate shirts to stick them on as of yet. I did a
test run on a plain white golf shirt from Costco, it was less than
successfull. The material was wrong, it was a bit of a weave. It has to be a
solid cotton. Kari suggested henleys, I wouldn't mind something like that.
Anyone seeing anything that might fit the bill let me know. Too bad the golf
shirt from Costco was $10, could got off on the cheap there.

Does anyone else have anything at this point? I didn't want to get too carried
away as not too many people have subscribed to this list. We don't have time
to wait for people to get on board. No ideas will be dismissed but we only
have two weeks to get this together.

Thanks!
