Odd, I know of people who have theirs and are happy with it. Having
played with it side by side with an EeePc, I can say that they are very
different devices with very different purposes. I like the eeePC mostly
because it is a pretty fast machine in a small form factor with a
standard x86 architecture. The OLPC is a different beast. They each
have their strong and weak points. The rotating screen with a high
contrast outdoor readable mode is very nice, especially for ebook reading.

|
| I doubt they'll do it... but I'm going to try. Did anyone notice their
| warranty? If you ordered one, even thought you haven't got it yet, your
| warranty period has passsed and is over.
|
| I thought that what I was ordering was a good thing, but I haven't any
| more patience for this.
|
| Thanks for the info John.

|> 14-Nov-2007: Initial order for 2 OLPC laptops on Nov 14th.
|> 26-Nov-2007: OLPC summarily cancelled the order 'at my request' .
|> 26-Nov-2007: Email them to find out what is going on - why was my order
|> cancelled?
|> 28-Nov-2007: OLPC responds that 'There was an error on your order' - the
|> error was never specified.
|> 03-Dec-2007: Re-order, pay via PayPal, call OLPC to get my original

|> 04-Feb-2008: Call OLPC and enquire about shipping dates - Inventory
