[clug-talk] New desktop manager?

I've been using Ubuntu for several years with Gnome. I just got a new
laptop and went to 11.10.. I can't stand Unity, and Gnome 3 is much
the same. I've been using XFCE but it has a few things it just can't
seem to do (arrange desktop icons by name??).
Any XFCE users that would be willing to offer me support.. or other
alternatives for desktop? I'd even consider switching distros if
someone has a good solution.. I liked Gnome quite fine.
