Thanks for your suggestion on changing the root password.

Does one have to be logged on to the internet to do that?

If not, I could do the change at Winson's place. If so, I will have to
do it at my place where I have an internet connection.

Since Winson and I live in the same building, taking his computer to my
place is no problem.
