This is somewhat off topic but I hope you can forgive that. A friend has been the victim of a scam involving gmail: emails were sent out asking for loans to help the victim get home from England.  Fortunately, I noticed that the email address, purported to be the victim's, was not quite correct so I didn't fall for it. 

But the problem is that the victim's google account has been frozen so he's unable to get access to email or to any of his contacts.  Attempts to contact google have been unsuccessful.  

I would appreciate any suggestions for a solution.
