I wonder if the option "realatime" has been removed or renamed? Try
mounting the partition somewhere else, and then manually specifying the
mount options.
Personally what I do is layer LVM on top of software RAID. It is easier
to grow the FS if I upgrade the disks in the array, or I can add a
second array. Lots of fun to be had.
