Hi all,
Mike's suggestion of using install fest has a number of problems...
1) It's a weekend, so I'd be unlikely to be able to attend :-(
2) No set time/duration and they'll be other stuff going on.
I think an evening at DeVry would better serve discussions, or even a
hour down the pub/coffee shop.
Important (needs to be done now - in my opinion)
---
If someone could contact UoC (assuming that there's no major objections
to holding it there) and get a preliminary 'OK' for the 5th May (again
assuming that's a good date) then 'we' get started.
If no-one has the balls to do this, give me the contact details
(offline!) of the person we'd 'used' last year and I'll do it.
Suggestions for speakers
---
Damien Sandras - Lead developer of Ekiga. H323, Sip (and soon to be
zrtp capable) softphone. Have made contact, is happy with idea but we'd
need to assist with travel.
Renderman - Edmonton based hacker. Wireless and other stuff. Regular
speaker at Hope, Defcon, etc.
Jon and Gustin - Double act on Virtualisation, Zen?
Roy Souther - LLUG, Seemed interested/excited at last LinuxFest to do
something.
Aaron - 'Our local star' (and Karaoke king).
Anyone of the 'big guns' - would have to be asking now before schedules
get filled!
Suggestions for talks
---
Asterisk - Introduction and Trix Box. I can do if no-one else better
can be found ;-)
Wireless Security - Renderman?
Suggestions for Sponsorship
---
Digium
All the Distros - RedHat, SuSU, Debian, Ubuntu, etc..
Suggestions for other groups to inform/get involved
---
Calgary 2600.
Cheers,
Simon.
