[clug-talk] Because the warnings about the Linksys WRT54gv5 aren't all true....

Hey all!

Long time no see... I just got back into town and ran into a problem that I
thought might come in handy for someone here one day.

My landlord wouldn't let me run ethernet down to the PCs, offering me the
option of moving the router down to me and having me buy her a wireless
card. You know that's not going to happen, so the next logical step is:
use the Linksys wrt54g that I picked up cheap (my travel router)!

Loading dd-wrt_micro on it was extremely easy [
http://www.bitsum.com/openwiking/owbase/ow.asp?WRT54G5%5FCFE ], replacing
the VxWorks software provides much more options (still more limited than the
previous WRT54g or WRT54gL), but it's been great so far! I did have some
stability problems previously (with large transfers), but it's been rock
solid so far.

At the moment, it's running dd-wrt_micro as a wireless ethernet bridge for
all of my wired computers - signal power is boosted slightly too.

If you do anything with it, let me know!

Cheers,
-Darren
