don't know about your other questions, but the ssh problem is simply that you 
had previously made a connection to a box, then at some point rebuilt that 
box or somehow got it to change it's key.  Edit the .ssh/known_hosts file in 
the user's root directory, and remove the line for the box you are connecting 
too.  Then when you next ssh to the box, it will get the new key.
