Okay, I am very happy I had my say in this. The article didn't even paint
Linux users or Open Source advocates as overly zealous. It was pretty fair in
my opinion.
The fact of the matter is that the Government issued this advisory that they
would adhere to these standards for accessibility and then this census proved
that they weren't even following their own guidelines. It was a nice recant.
As far as I am concerned this is the kind of egg-on-the-face that Government
needs now and again. And if it works in our favour all the better.
I was not aware of the Lockheed-Martin connection though and that irks me as
much as the lack of support for OSS. It drives me when our own Government
outources things as critical as this to US companies. Tsk!
