Hi everyone, I got this from a friend of mine and would like some opinions.
It got me thinking that I'd like to take some uber-beginner courses as well,
so any ideas on some n00bie courses would be appreciated as well.

Cheers!

 Mike,

Do you have any reccomendations on local Linux training?

I would like to get someone in my department trained up on Linux systems
administration and would be interested in hearing about any experience you
may have with the locally available courses. At this point it looks like we
can choose between Red Hat courses or LPI courses offered through Mount
Royal as well as various corporate training outfits. I probably have a
~slight~ preference for LPI courses as they are vendor neutral, but Red Hat
courses would likely meet our needs as well, as we are currently running Red
Hat Enterprise Linux.

The person who would most likely be taking the courses has considerable
experience with Linux and other forms of *nix as a user and software
developer, and some experience as an administrator.

One option we were considering was self study of the LPI prep materials
available at *
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/views/linux/libraryview.jsp?type_by=Tutorials
*<http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/views/linux/libraryview.jsp?type_by=Tutorials>and
then enrolling in one of the more advanced courses.

Any recommendations you might have would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave Morris
