I agree the email response was extreme, but as I understand the article, he
actually had a very polite and civil phone conversation with the fellow prior
to the email.
Perhaps there was something in that phone conversation that irked ESR? Or
perhaps he has elaborated a little for the media?
I would never condone this type of attitude/language in business circles, or
even in simple terms of politeness. But it's probably safe to say we've all
run into someone we would like to be THAT blunt with. In that sense, it was
worth a chuckle.. :)
Also, ESR and RMS are both known to be a little eccentric....
