I am an avid Debian user (I know, boo hiss...). I just bought a board with
the NForce3 chipset on it and I have serial ATA drives on it. When I
installed I got Dan Graham to help me with the install. What we needed to do
is get the 2.6.12 kernel and that had the drivers for the SATA chip my
motherboard uses. If we used an earlier kernel, the DVD would boot the
install CD but it would not see any devices to install.
