[clug-talk] KDE and keyboard mapping

I just purchased a logitech MX 5000 keyboard and mouse. I connected the blue
tooth dongle and turned on the keybaord and mouse, and surprisingly
everything started to work automagically, even the mute and volume sliders.

Weirdly the volume slider stopped working on both my laptop and the bluetooth
keyboard shortly thereafter, but the mute button works fine on both.

The laptop volume buttons no longer work even with the bluetooth disconnected.
I have rebooted the laptop (cold) wich had no effect.

I am not really sure where to begin to trouble shoot. The usual tail
-f /var/log/syslog and messages did not output anything usefull.

I added the evbug kernel module and the /var/log/syslog registers the button
press (or slider use), so the keys are physically working.

I did not have to change anything in the KDE settings (which is currently set
to Laptop/Notebook Compaq (eg. Presario) Internet Keyboard.

xkeycaps was less than usefull.

Any ideas or software suggestions to help troubleshoot would be appretiated.

Oh ya this is KDE 3.4.2

Cheers,
