This is probably even more common knowledge than what shawn said but if 
you are always loging into a remote box with ssh you can make it so you 
login without it prompting you for a password.

$ ssh-keygen -t rsa

$ ssh server "mkdir .ssh; chmod 0700 .ssh"
$ scp .ssh/id_rsa.pub server:.ssh/authorized_keys2
