Good one Neil! I love hearing about things like this. Hey if you can't help 
financially, there's always contributing to a project like this that may aid 
in early warning of future disasters of this kind. There's still the small 
matter of whether the Government intentionally withheld the information so as 
not to scare tourists away. In such a case it wouldn't matter how much 
warning you had... :(

Still a very noble cause. How cool is Open Source?!
