Hi Giovanni.
It should be ok to install the Linux proxy. You only need to set the browsers 
(clients) to use it, and make sure the proxy itself can get out.  Novell 
BorderManager i will assume is an ipx/spx device, the two protocols should go 
side-by-side, or you might like to look at encapsulating tcp/ip to let it go 
through the borderManager.

ps.: If all your network is in ipx/spx, Linux can run on that too ...
