running it on Cygwin is cool indeed. =)
and a completely different matter than targeting win32 as a first class
platform ... for some reason a number of people interpretted my blog as
saying i wanted to limit choice, especially the sort you highlight above.
nothing could be farther from the truth.
the context of my blog (which, of course, got lost as soon as it was posted
on /., land of context-free postings ;) was the concept of targetting win32
as a viable long term platform just as we do with, say, Solaris, AIX or MacOS
X.

no, the stated goal is to grow the userbase for KDE. no real personal itch
scratching, unfortunately.
