These are the notes from the June 11th 2008 CLUG Exec meeting. Gustin, Kin & John convened via a teleconference at 5pm MDT. Reviewed the notes made by John & Gustin on 15-May. * John has since cleaned up the website disk space issue. Organization: Calgary Linux Users Group Kin said we still have 50+ lamination blanks so there is no urgency in purchasing more. John requested that the purchasing info for blanks be placed into this Wiki and also be written down and placed into the membership equipment kit. Gustin said that merging the CLUG forums and mailing lists was a substantial amount of work and not a viable feature to add. Gustin said that we could search the mailing list archives by performing a scoped search with Google. That makes any feature add redundant so we agreed to drop it. Kin has been holding a cheque to Dave Watkins for the DNS registration of Linuxfest.org. This is waiting for a second signature. John and Kin will get cheques to Dave for this and the clug.ca renewal before the end of June. All agreed to permit the use of clug.ca mailing lists to post job notices, vendor announcements and educational announcements unless these are later perceived as a problem. The site upgrade to Drupal 6.x is blocked waiting for John to have enough time to implement this. This also gates other feature additions because those features are exploitable in earlier versions of Drupal. Gustin confirmed that he will host both the July Members meeting and the July Exec meeting. John spoke with Dave Watkins regarding the clug.ca domain renewal. Dave has contacted both the webhost and the registrar but has not received call backs from either. He will retry tomorrow (Thurs June 12th). Kin said that time is running out for getting COSSFEST going. He's right. Kin has also been in touch with Devry to see if they will host the event this year. Kin has "loaned" a WRTGL-54 to CLUG. This was to get us past a hardware problem. This equipment needs to be either replaced, purchased from Kin or a receipt issued to Kin for it's value. No disposition made - we should nail this down on the July 16th meeting. Because of the Calgary Stampede it was decided to move the July CLUG Exec meeting from July 9th to July 16th. There was a motion to re-introduce book reviews. Before implementing this we need to address a couple of things: * Find sponsors to provide books |
